Anabaptists and Mennonites all across the globe recognize Menno Simons as their inspiration and the founder of the body of thought bearing his name. Menno Simons rejected the baptism of infants in favor of baptism by conscious choice. He also strongly opposed militant practices. 
Menno Simons lived in the sixteenth century, but his legacy lives on for the 1,500,000 Mennonites and Anabaptists all across the globe. Although there are differences between the fellowships of believers, they share the same core values.
